INFLAMED manufactures charred timber products at its factory in Lithuania. Depending on the selected product and finish, production includes controlled charring, brushing, finishing and quality inspection before packing and dispatch.

Questions
Before you specify.
Does charred wood rub off on clothing?+
No. Every board is brushed to remove loose soot and then sealed with wood oil before it leaves the factory.
What maintenance does Shou Sugi Ban need?+
Inspect all exterior products visually at least annually. Indicative re-oiling: Spruce KIME every 5-7 years; KIME Black Larch every 10-12 years, with condition-based postponement never beyond 15 years; Japanese Cedar KIME every 10-12 years; Accoya® KIME approximately every 15 years; KAEN approximately every 15-20 years; decking every 1-2 years. Timing depends on exposure, orientation, climate, moisture, detailing and finish condition, not a colour-retention warranty or guaranteed service life. Flaking that exposes timber may require careful local sanding with 180-220 grit, cleaning, drying and the appropriate oil. Never use pressure washers.
